This is really annoying, I had written an amazing post that was longer than the average post I usually share on my blog. It was funny, sharp and witty. Somehow it lost its self in translation. Thank's Weebly ! Hopefully, my second attempt will NOT be a complete disaster. If so, just bare with me...
Before we get down to business about Perspex heels and my love hate relationship I have with them can we just talk about the denim on denim action going on here ? I believe there is two type of people when it comes down to monochromatic style. Type A - like my best friend - who aren't big on colour schematics and Type B - like me, who play's it safe - we are most likely to purchase every matching top & bottoms they can find. I live for a good denim on denim.
Never the less, when the trend of "stripper heels" came to the runway with Kanye West - Yeezy Season 4 - I was baffled. I usually have a pretty good open mind in life in general. But with fashion and trends I rarely love what's "hot" right now. I usually was wearing something similar before it become the sensation by being inspired from past trends or I see it long enough that I start liking it when others have jumped onto the new "IT" thing. So, it will come to no surprise when it was not love at first sight.
It was almost a year later, in February - after the 60's inspired fashion show that mister West launched his new line - that I found myself in NOLA shopping with my daughter. I entered Steve Maddens looking for loafers. Meanwhile, I was probably driving the sales manager insane, trying on so many heels and then I saw theses babies. Gave them a walk around the store which was completely unnecessary because the second I strapped them on I fell in love AND they were super comfortable. The thick heel trend is definitely a keeper ! As for the Perspex trend you either love it, hate it or like me evolve to love it.
